I think I have already heard this song because my father listens to Dire Straits. After listening to the song two times I realised it was about a war. I didn't know which war it was, so I searched a little on Google and Wikipedia and I found out that the song is about the Falklands War (in spanish know as "Guerra de las Malvinas"), which was fought between Argentina and the United Kingdom in 1982. The song, written by Mark Knopfler, was played in memorial of the dead soldiers.
I hope it wasn't cheating searching a bit on the internet, at least I recognize that I did ☺
